Electrical Project Manager – Data Centres

Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join a leading specialist contractor delivering complex electrical projects within the data centre sector. Working across projects throughout the North of England, you will be responsible for managing the successful delivery of electrical packages from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of electrical packages on data centre projects from pre-construction through to handover.
  • Ensure all projects are delivered in accordance with health and safety legislation, company procedures, and client requirements.
  • Manage project programmes, resources, subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to achieve successful project outcomes.
  • Monitor and control project budgets, costs, variations, and overall commercial performance.
  • Produce and present regular project progress, programme, and financial reports.
  • Work closely with commercial, planning, technical, and health & safety teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure all installations comply with relevant industry standards, specifications, and best practices.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and key stakeholders.
  • Identify and manage project risks and opportunities to support successful delivery and profitability.
  • Support tender and pre-construction activities where required.

Requirements

Qualifications & Certifications

  • Relevant Electrical qualification or completed electrical apprenticeship.
  • CSCS Black Card.
  • SMSTS certification.
  • First Aid qualification (desirable).

Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience as an Electrical Project Manager delivering large-scale electrical projects.
  • Previous experience delivering electrical packages within live or new-build data centre environments is essential.
  • Demonstrable track record of managing projects valued at £2 million+.
  • Strong knowledge of critical infrastructure, including LV distribution, UPS systems, generators, switchgear, and associated electrical services.
  • Excellent understanding of project planning, programme management, and commercial control.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing site teams and subcontractors.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet demanding project deadlines.
  • Commercially aware with a focus on delivering profitable project outcomes.
