The opportunity

We’re recruiting an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join a well-established engineering business specialising in critical power and standby power solutions.

Based from the company’s facility near Wigan, you’ll coordinate the delivery of electrical installation projects across the UK. You’ll manage and allocate work across a team of approximately ten experienced installation engineers, oversee project planning and health and safety documentation, and liaise with customers, site representatives and internal departments.

This position may also suit an Electrical Contracts Manager, Electrical Installation Manager, Installation Project Manager, Electrical Site Manager or experienced Electrical Supervisor looking to take on wider project and team responsibility.

Previous experience within UPS, critical power or standby power would be advantageous, but applications are also welcomed from candidates with relevant experience in electrical contracting, industrial installations, generators, switchgear, power distribution, data centres or other technically aligned environments.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating electrical installation projects from planning through to completion
  • Managing engineer workloads, site allocations, availability and project timescales
  • Developing CDM project plans and producing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
  • Liaising with customers, Site Authorised Persons and other external representatives
  • Working closely with internal design, production and QHES teams
  • Conducting UK site visits to monitor progress, support engineers and maintain safety and quality standards
  • Maintaining accurate project records and identifying opportunities to improve delivery, efficiency and cost control

About you

You’ll be an organised, confident and proactive electrical professional who can manage several projects and priorities while providing clear direction to an experienced installation team.

You’ll ideally have experience coordinating electrical installation projects and site-based engineers within an electrical contracting, power, industrial or engineering environment. Strong leadership, planning and communication skills are essential, together with a good understanding of CDM, RAMS and site health and safety requirements.

Knowledge of the current 18th Edition Wiring Regulations is preferred. Experience with battery-backed UPS, DC standby or critical power systems would be particularly advantageous, while an IOSH or NEBOSH qualification would also be beneficial.

A full UK driving licence is required due to regular travel to project sites.

Why apply?

This is an excellent opportunity to join an established engineering business in a varied and responsible position. You’ll have the autonomy to coordinate experienced engineers, influence how projects are delivered and play an important role in maintaining high standards across UK installation activity.
