The Opportunity

First Achieve Engineering is partnering with a leading engineering business to recruit an Electrical Service Engineer for its expanding Service & Repair team.

This role combines field-based and workshop work, supporting customers across the Central Belt of Scotland. You'll be working on a broad range of HVAC, commercial and industrial equipment, carrying out reactive breakdowns, servicing, repairs and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service, repair and commission:
    • Submersible pumps
    • Booster sets
    • Pump stations
    • Variable Speed Drives (Inverters)
    • Electric motors and associated control systems
  • Diagnose and repair faults on motor circuits, control panels and inverter drives.
  • Carry out electrical fault finding on pumps and associated equipment.
  • Strip, inspect and assess motors, pumps and fans alongside the mechanical team when required.
  • Commission new equipment and ensure systems operate efficiently.
  • Complete risk assessments and work safely in accordance with Health & Safety legislation.
  • Produce detailed service reports and maintain excellent customer relationships.

What We're Looking For

  • Electrical qualification (NVQ/SVQ, HNC/HND, City & Guilds or equivalent).
  • 18th Edition qualification desirable but not essential.
  • Previous experience in a Service Engineer, Maintenance Engineer or Field Service role.
  • Strong experience fault finding on:
    • Electric motors
    • Motor control circuits
    • Variable Speed Drives (VSDs/Inverters)
    • Control panels
  • Experience within industrial, manufacturing, wastewater, HVAC or building services environments.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Excellent fault-finding and communication skills.
