An excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced Electrician to join a well-established manufacturer based near York.
This is a varied role that combines electrical testing and inspection, fault finding, panel wiring and occasional site installation work. You'll be joining a small, friendly engineering team where attitude and teamwork are just as important as technical ability.
This position has become available due to retirement planning, allowing for a handover with the current Electrician before they leave.
The RoleWorking within a manufacturing environment, you'll be responsible for carrying out electrical testing, inspection and certification of bespoke low voltage telecoms cabinets before they're dispatched to customers.
Alongside testing, you'll also support the wiring and assembly of electrical components from schematics and wiring schedules, with occasional travel to customer sites to assist with new product installations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out inspection, testing and certification of electrical systems
  • Produce accurate electrical test certificates and compliance documentation
  • Diagnose and rectify electrical faults
  • Wire electrical components using schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Support electrical assembly when required
  • Ensure all work complies with BS7671 Wiring Regulations
  • Assist with occasional customer site installations
  • Work closely with production and engineering teams to deliver high-quality products
About YouWe're keen to speak to candidates with experience in electrical testing and inspection from manufacturing, industrial or commercial environments.
You could currently be working as an:
  • Electrician
  • Electrical Maintenance Engineer
  • Electrical Test Engineer
  • Electrical Technician
  • Panel Wirer with Inspection & Testing qualifications
You'll ideally have:
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent)
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations - essential
  • City & Guilds 2391, 2394/2395 or equivalent Inspection & Testing qualification - essential
  • Experience carrying out electrical inspection, testing and certification
  • Strong fault-finding skills
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Full UK Driving Licence
Experience with low voltage electrical systems or control panels would be advantageous but isn't essential.
What's on Offer
  • £40,000 - £55,000 depending on experience
  • Monday to Thursday - 8:00am to 5:00pm
  • Friday - 8:00am to 1:00pm
