Salary: Up to £45,000
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
Location: Field based, covering High Wycombe, the Midlands and surrounding areas
Contract: Permanent
This is an opportunity to join an established UK engineering business in a field-based role, travelling to customer sites to commission, maintain and troubleshoot specialist ventilation and environmental control systems.
The most important requirement for this role is a Level 3 Electrical NVQ, or a directly equivalent Level 3 electrical qualification. Previous commissioning, HVAC or ventilation experience would be useful, but full product training will be provided for someone with the right electrical background, practical ability and attitude.
Key Responsibilities of the Electrician:
- Commission systems and carry out functional and performance checks on customer sites.
- Complete planned preventative maintenance and routine servicing.
- Investigate faults and carry out electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Test controls, wiring, components and associated equipment.
- Liaise with contractors, site teams and end users to complete work efficiently.
- Complete reports, test records and other required paperwork accurately.
- Work in line with company health and safety and quality procedures.
- Travel to customer sites across High Wycombe, the Midlands and surrounding areas.
Requirements of the Electrician:
- Level 3 Electrical NVQ, or a directly equivalent Level 3 electrical qualification — essential.
- Full UK driving licence — essential.
- Willingness to travel regularly as part of the role.
- Good electrical fault-finding ability and a practical, hands-on approach.
- Good communication skills and a professional approach when working on customer sites.
- Experience within field service, commissioning, maintenance, HVAC, ventilation or building services would be beneficial.
- Knowledge of control systems such as BACnet would be useful.
- 18th Edition would be desirable but is not essential.
- A CSCS card, SSSTS or SMSTS would be useful, although this can be discussed.
