Electrician Mate

Salary: £33,000 – £35,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent

Location: south london 

We are looking for an Electrician’s Mate / Electrical Improver to join our team on a permanent basis. The role will involve carrying out PAT testing and basic electrical testing, while gaining further experience and training within the electrical industry.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a basic electrical background who wants to develop their skills, gain practical experience and progress towards becoming a fully qualified electrician.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out PAT testing across residential and commercial properties.
• Assist with electrical testing and inspection under the guidance of qualified electricians.
• Carry out basic electrical checks and identify potential faults.
• Assist with electrical remedial works where required.
• Support qualified electricians with day-to-day electrical maintenance.
• Assist with installation and maintenance of sockets, switches, lighting and other electrical accessories.
• Help with cable pulling, containment and general electrical works.
• Complete testing records, job sheets and documentation accurately.
• Work within occupied and void properties while maintaining a professional and tidy approach.
• Follow all health and safety procedures and electrical safe working practices.

Requirements

• Some previous electrical, construction or maintenance experience preferred.
• Basic understanding of electrical systems and safe working practices.
• Comfortable using hand tools and electrical testing equipment.
• Willingness to learn and develop.
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
• Full UK driving licence.
• ECS card would be advantageous.
