Salary: £35,372 - £37,538 per annum (depending on experience and qualifications)

Our client is seeking an experienced and proactive Electrician to join their Maintenance Team, supporting a diverse property portfolio that includes residential accommodation, offices, public spaces, and historic buildings. This is an excellent opportunity to work across a wide range of electrical installations while contributing to the upkeep, safety, and ongoing development of a unique estate.

Working alongside a team of skilled tradespeople, you'll be responsible for both reactive and planned maintenance, electrical testing, fault finding, new installations, compliance activities, and improvement projects.

The Role

As an Electrician, your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out electrical maintenance, repairs, fault finding, and rewiring in line with current regulations.

  • Inspecting and testing electrical systems, plant, and equipment to identify faults and safety risks.

  • Managing and maintaining testing schedules and compliance records.

  • Undertaking PAT testing and inspection of electrical installations.

  • Installing, testing, and commissioning new electrical systems and equipment.

  • Working with external contractors and specialist consultants as required.

  • Supporting the training and development of colleagues and apprentices.

  • Assisting with project planning, specifications, and contractor supervision.

  • Maintaining stock levels and requesting materials as required.

  • Completing job records and documentation accurately.

  • Delivering a high standard of workmanship and customer service across the estate.

  • Supporting other maintenance trades when required.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Essential

  • Proven experience working as an Electrician.

  • Strong fault-finding and electrical maintenance skills.

  • Good knowledge of current Health & Safety regulations and safe working practices.

  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Full UK driving licence.

  • Flexibility to support occasional out-of-hours call-outs when required.

Desirable

  • 18th Edition qualification.

  • City & Guilds 2391 (Inspection, Testing and Certification) or equivalent.

  • Experience of planned preventative maintenance programmes.

  • Knowledge of other building trades.

  • Experience mentoring apprentices or junior colleagues.

Additional Information

The role involves manual handling, working at height, and occasional work in confined spaces. The successful candidate will be required to undergo a DBS check and participate in relevant Health & Safety and role-specific training.
