We are recruiting for an experienced Electrician to join a well-established property maintenance team delivering high-quality repairs, testing and installation work across domestic and commercial properties throughout Sunderland. Working within the Empty Homes team, the successful Electrician will primarily carry out EICR testing, fault finding, repairs and electrical installations in vacant properties, while also supporting occasional work within occupied homes, including full rewires and reactive repairs.
The Role
Carry out EICR inspections, testing and certification.
Complete electrical repairs, maintenance and installations in domestic and commercial properties.
Undertake full and partial rewires where required.
Replace electrical components including showers, sockets, switches and consumer units.
Diagnose faults and complete repairs safely and efficiently.
Ensure all work complies with the latest BS7671 (18th Edition) Wiring Regulations.
Complete all certification electronically using handheld devices.
Deliver excellent customer service while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
Participate in an out-of-hours emergency rota when required.
What We're Looking For
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent electrical qualification.
Completed AM2 qualification.
City & Guilds 2391-52 (or equivalent) Inspection & Testing qualification.
At least 2 years' experience carrying out inspection and testing.
Strong knowledge of BS7671 Wiring Regulations (18th Edition).
Experience working within domestic property maintenance.
Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
Good IT skills and experience using handheld devices.
Full UK Driving Licence.
Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation.
