Electrical Mate / Improver – New Build Hospital Project

Location: Shrewsbury

Rate: £20.00 per hour

Hours: 45 Hours per Week

• Monday to Thursday: 10-hour days
• Friday: Half day

Duration: 6+ Months

Start Date: Immediate (17/08/2026)

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Mate / Improver to join a major new build hospital project in Shrewsbury.

This is an excellent opportunity to secure long-term work on a prestigious healthcare development, working alongside an established electrical contractor on a high-profile project.

Scope of Works

The successful candidate will be assisting Electricians with a wide range of commercial electrical installation works, including:

• Installing ladder rack, tray, trunking and galvanised conduit.
• Assisting with electrical containment systems.
• Supporting single-phase electrical installations.
• Pulling, routing and dressing cables.
• Assisting with first and second fix electrical works.
• Working from drawings and site specifications.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working area.
• Adhering to site Health & Safety procedures at all times.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

• ECS Card (or valid CSCS Card where appropriate).
• IPAF Licence.
• Previous experience on commercial construction projects.
• Own hand tools and full PPE.
• Good attitude, reliability and willingness to work as part of a team.
