Salary: £26,000 - £29,000 + contributory pension, free parking, regular training and upskilling
Do you take real pride in building something properly - and notice the details others miss?
We’re looking for an experienced electronics assembler to join our friendly six-person Production team, building, testing and configuring electronic wireless communications products used by customers around the world.
The role
- Assembling small electronic products and sub-assemblies by hand, including cables, batteries, transmitters, PCB-based assemblies and LED components.
- Completing cable and wire assembly, hand placement and occasional hand soldering.
- Following build instructions, diagrams and drawings accurately and consistently.
- Using small hand tools, meters, electrical test equipment and computer-based test systems.
- Programming and configuring devices to the correct frequency and specification.
- Inspecting and quality-checking your own work and completed products before release.
- Working closely with five production colleagues to meet demanding quality and output targets.
What matters most:
Pride in quality is paramount. We need someone who can demonstrate a consistent record of careful workmanship: following instructions, checking their work, spotting faults or inconsistencies and taking responsibility for putting things right.
- Relevant hands-on experience: assembling, wiring, testing and configuring electronic products.
- Fine manual dexterity: comfortable handling small parts, wires, connectors, PCBs and tools.
- Accuracy and discipline: able to repeat a build process reliably without allowing standards to slip.
- Team contribution: dependable, cooperative and comfortable working in a close-knit, output-focused team.
- Basic IT confidence: able to use a desktop PC and standard Microsoft software.
Experience that could be a strong match
You may currently build, test, inspect or configure products such as:
- Paging, radio, communications or call systems
- Door-entry, access-control or intercom systems
- Security, intruder-alarm or fire-alarm equipment
- Control panels, sensors, detectors or other low-voltage devices
- Cable assemblies, wiring looms, PCB-based products or compact electronic equipment
Experience matters more than a particular industry label. We are interested in what you personally worked on, the tools and instructions you used, and how you made sure your work met the required quality standard.
