Job Role: Electronics Technician
Location: Burton-on-Trent
Job Type: Contract (6 months min)
Hours: Monday to Thursday - 07:30 to 16:00
Friday - 07:30 to 12:30
Pay: £18.00 per hour

Role Summary
This role is the electronic repair, modification and overhaul of train equipment.

Key Responsibilities
* Work on own initiative or as part of a team within a dedicated team of electricians working to production deadlines.
* To carry out repairs, modifications or overhaul of electronic equipment in accordance with work instructions and schematics.
* Record components used at each stage of repair, modification and overhaul, for the purposes of reporting and maintaining repair history records.
* Where equipment does not achieve required outputs, does not fit together, etc. to investigate, fault find and diagnose likely causes and where possible correct the fault. Notify appropriate personnel of actual and potential problems.
* Ensure quality requirements are met by working to technical documents and work instructions.
* Carry out minor maintenance tasks and specified routine preventative maintenance.
* Raise Non-Conformance Records as appropriate.
* Communicate to Supervision/Manager any deficiencies in the production activity as they are detected and suggest any possible actions to correct these deficiencies.
* To attend site to provide technical support and assistance to the customer, when required.
* Carry out any other reasonable duty or task as instructed by your manager in pursuit of Faiveley Transport's goals and objectives
* Use MRP/ERP system to process repair orders and consume parts for stock control purposes.

About You
* Background & Experience:
o Proficient IT skills (particularly MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
o Ability to efficiently organise workload.
o Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team.
o Knowledge of the railway industry and/or Wabtec products.
o Flexible attitude to work and a changing environment
o ERP system knowledge
* Qualifications/Education required:
o NVQ or equivalent qualification in an appropriate discipline is desirable.
o Must be able to use electronic test equipment and have experience in soldering.
o Previous experience in electronic testing, fault finding and repair.
o Familiar with industry or improvement tools such as 5S and Kaizen.
o Previous experience within the rail or automotive industry advantageous
o Knowledge of MRP/ERP system is advantageous
