We are recruiting three Test & Assembly Operatives to join an established technology manufacturer based in Market Deeping. The company designs and manufactures specialist electronic communication equipment used in safety-critical environments worldwide. These positions are offered on an initial 12-month fixed-term contract and provide an excellent opportunity to develop practical skills within a high-quality engineering and electronics environment. Previous manufacturing experience would be advantageous, but it is not essential. Applications are welcomed from candidates who have gained relevant knowledge or practical skills through employment, college, university, an apprenticeship or personal projects. The role Working as part of the production team, you will assemble and test electro-mechanical products to defined quality and technical standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assembling and testing electronic and electro-mechanical products.
- Working from technical drawings, build instructions and wiring schematics.
- Soldering connectors onto cables using appropriate soldering equipment.
- Completing work accurately and in accordance with established procedures.
- Recording assembly and test information using internal IT systems.
- Working to agreed production schedules and quality specifications.
- Liaising with the Stores team to ensure materials and components are available.
- Identifying and reporting any build, component or quality issues.
- GCSEs at grades A–C/4–9 in English and Maths, or equivalent qualifications.
- A genuine interest in practical engineering, electronics or electrical work.
- Good attention to detail and the ability to follow precise instructions.
- A practical, hands-on approach to work.
- Basic confidence using computers to enter and record information.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- A positive, reliable and flexible attitude.
Security and screening requirements
Due to the nature of the products and customers involved, successful candidates must be able to obtain and maintain the required Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance. Applicants must be able to provide a complete and checkable five-year history covering employment, education and any periods when they were not working or studying. Any offer of employment will be subject to the successful completion of the required security and pre-employment checks.
Hours and benefits
- 37.5 hours per week.
