The Opportunity

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturer operating within a high-reliability electronics environment. Due to continued growth, our client is seeking an experienced Electronics Inspector to join their Quality team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with experience inspecting electronic assemblies, PCBAs, and finished products within a regulated manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out visual and functional inspections of electronic assemblies, PCBAs, wiring, and finished products.
  • Perform first-off, in-process, and final inspections throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Verify products against engineering drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), work instructions, and quality standards.
  • Identify component, assembly, and cosmetic defects, including soldering faults, placement errors, and wiring discrepancies.
  • Use inspection equipment including microscopes and vernier callipers.
  • Complete quality documentation accurately and maintain full product traceability.
  • Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) where required and support corrective action activities.
  • Assist with root cause investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with IPC standards, customer specifications, and internal quality procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment.

Candidate Requirements

Essential

  • Previous experience within an electronics manufacturing or inspection role.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Good understanding of electronic components and PCB assemblies.
  • Experience of quality inspection techniques and processes.
  • IPC-A-610 certification.
  • Experience using microscopes, measuring equipment, and electronic test equipment.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Experience working within aerospace, defence, or other high-reliability manufacturing sectors.
  • Ability to complete inspection records and quality documentation accurately.
