Electronics Technician (Calibration & Maintenance)

The Opportunity

Our client, a leading engineering and technology organisation operating within a highly regulated environment, is seeking an Electronics Technician to join their Calibration & Maintenance team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist engineering function supporting the calibration, maintenance and repair of sophisticated test equipment used in the manufacture and testing of complex electronic systems. The work is varied, technically challenging and offers exposure to a wide range of technologies spanning DC through to microwave frequencies.

Working as part of a highly skilled multi-disciplinary team, you will play a key role in ensuring critical test and measurement equipment remains fully operational, calibrated and compliant with quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned calibration activities on specialist test equipment.

  • Support maintenance and repair activities on factory test systems and measurement equipment.

  • Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to resolve technical issues.

  • Maintain both proprietary and bespoke test equipment in accordance with established procedures.

  • Conduct fault finding and repairs, including component-level investigations where required.

  • Produce clear and accurate maintenance and calibration records to support traceability requirements.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the calibration and maintenance function.

  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with quality, safety and regulatory requirements.

What We're Looking For

Essential Qualifications

Applicants must hold all of the following:

  • Advanced Apprenticeship or Level 3 Apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering.

  • Level 3 academic qualification in a relevant engineering discipline (ONC, Diploma or equivalent).

  • Level 3 vocational qualification (NVQ or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline.

Skills & Experience

  • Understanding of calibration principles and processes.

  • Experience working with electronic test and measurement equipment.

  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, procedures and engineering documentation.

  • Strong analytical and fault-finding abilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.

  • High standards of quality and attention to detail.

  • Strong commitment to safe working practices.

Desirable Experience

  • Calibration of electronic test equipment.

  • Maintenance and repair of electronic test systems.

  • Component-level fault diagnosis and repair.

  • Experience working within highly regulated engineering, aerospace, defence, manufacturing or similar technical environments.
