Electronics Test Technician / Engineer

I'm currently supporting a North East manufacturer with the appointment of a Test Technician / Test Engineer to join an established electronics test team.
This is a hands-on role within a manufacturing environment, focused on ensuring electronic and power electronic products meet specification and quality standards before release.
Key responsibilities include:
- Testing products against defined test procedures and specifications
- Fault finding down to component level using circuit diagrams and schematics
- Diagnosing and repairing electronic faults on complex assemblies
- Collating, recording and documenting test results
- Maintaining and calibrating test equipment
- Designing and building bespoke test rigs and fixtures where required
- Supporting continuous improvement activities to improve test efficiency and product quality
I'm particularly interested in speaking with candidates who have experience using:
- Oscilloscopes
- Multimeters
- Function Generators
- Current Meters
- Power Analysers
Backgrounds could include:
Experience within power electronics would be highly advantageous, including exposure to:
- IGBTs
- Converters & Inverters
- DC-DC Converters
- Power Supplies
- High Voltage Systems
- Three-Phase Electrical Systems
- Digital & Analogue Electronics
Candidates with an HNC/HND in Electrical & Electronic Engineering are encouraged to apply, although the business is also open to individuals with a strong electronics background who are looking to further develop their skills through structured on-the-job training.
