Engine Trend Analysis Manager in Basingstoke, Hampshire
Posted by Coburg Banks Limited
Aviation Engineering | Gas Turbine Engines | Technical Analysis
An unusual opportunity for an experienced aircraft gas turbine engineer to move into a specialist technical role focused on engine performance, diagnostics and trend analysis.
Rather than being hands-on with the engine, you'll use operational and performance data to identify developing issues, investigate anomalies and provide customers with early warning of potential engine problems.
If you understand gas turbine engines, enjoy fault-finding and have a naturally analytical brain, this could be a very interesting next step.
The Role
You'll be responsible for monitoring and analysing aircraft engine performance data, using specialist systems to identify trends and potential technical issues.
You'll also:
Carry out Gas Path Analysis and engine trend monitoring
Evaluate engine performance data and investigate anomalies
Identify potential problems and issue technical alerts where required
Provide technical support to aircraft operators and internal teams
Manage the processing, evaluation and reporting of customer data
Liaise with customers on technical and operational issues
Support and supervise the day-to-day monitoring service
Work closely with other engineering, operations and IT specialists
You'll also periodically act as Duty Manager, providing remote out-of-hours technical support as part of a rota for a service operating 24/7.
What We're Looking For
You'll need a strong background in aircraft gas turbine engineering, ideally backed by an Aeronautical Engineering degree, aircraft engineering licence or equivalent practical experience.
We're particularly interested in people with:
Aircraft gas turbine engine experience
Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
Engine performance or trend monitoring knowledge
An analytical and logical approach
Good IT skills and confidence working with technical data
Experience in a position carrying meaningful technical responsibility
The flexibility to participate in an out-of-hours support rota
Experience with Honeywell, Pratt & Whitney Canada, GE or Rolls-Royce engines would be particularly useful.
Why Consider It?
This is a chance to use your aircraft engine knowledge in a very different way.
You'll move away from purely hands-on maintenance and into a specialist role where your understanding of engine behaviour can help identify problems before they become serious operational issues.
If you're an experienced aviation engineer who enjoys diagnostics, data and figuring out why an engine is behaving the way it is, we'd like to hear from you.
