Client Details
Our client are seeking an experienced Engineering Controls Manager to take ownership of the controls and Building Management Systems (BMS) strategy across a large and diverse estate, including retail and distribution environments.
Description
- Develop and enhance engineering controls and BMS platforms across the estate.
- Create and maintain industry-leading technical standards aligned with business objectives.
- Collaborate with technical, operational, property, and IT stakeholders to deliver consistent engineering solutions.
- Identify opportunities for innovation, simplification, and cost-effective improvements.
- Lead the development of short, medium, and long-term controls strategies.
- Build strong relationships with suppliers, industry experts, and internal stakeholders.
- Produce technical specifications and support the design and delivery of engineering projects.
- Develop business cases for new technologies, trials, and improvement initiatives.
- Support energy reduction programmes and operational efficiency projects.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and industry best practice.
- Drive continuous improvement and introduce emerging technologies that deliver value to the business.
Profile
A successful Engineering Controls Manager should have:
- Proven experience within Engineering Controls, Building Management Systems (BMS), or a related technical discipline.
- Experience delivering technical projects from concept through to implementation.
- Strong knowledge of controls platforms, automation systems, and associated technologies.
- Experience writing technical specifications and managing external suppliers and contractors.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a passion for continuous improvement.
- The ability to balance operational requirements with long-term strategic objectives.
- A strong understanding of industry standards, compliance requirements, and emerging technologies.
