A leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is looking to recruit an Engineering Geologist to join its growing Glasgow office. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse range of infrastructure, commercial, residential and energy projects across Scotland and the wider UK, with a strong mix of site-based and office-based responsibilities.
Working alongside an experienced geotechnical team, you will be involved in all stages of ground investigation projects, from supervising site works through to factual reporting and providing technical support on geotechnical assessments.
Engineering Geologist Requirements:
- Degree in Engineering Geology, Geology, Earth Sciences or a related discipline.
- Previous experience within a ground investigation or engineering geology role.
- Confident supervising site investigations and subcontractors.
- Experienced in logging soil and rock to current British Standards.
- Factual ground investigation reporting experience.
- Knowledge of geotechnical sampling, in-situ testing and laboratory scheduling.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
Engineering Geologist Responsibilities:
- Supervise ground investigations, including rotary, cable percussion and window sample drilling.
- Log soil and rock in accordance with current British Standards.
- Oversee trial pitting, soakaway testing and in-situ testing.
- Produce factual ground investigation reports.
- Schedule and review geotechnical laboratory testing.
- Liaise with clients, contractors and the wider design team.
- Assist with geotechnical assessments and interpretation of ground conditions.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and to a high technical standard.
