Engineering Geologist

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000
Location: Manchester

An established consultancy is looking for an Engineering Geologist to join their growing team in Manchester. This is a great opportunity for an Engineering Geologist looking to develop their technical experience across a variety of ground investigation and geotechnical projects.

You'll be involved in both site and office-based work, supporting projects from initial ground investigation through to reporting and interpretation.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and undertaking ground investigations
• Site supervision and logging of boreholes, trial pits and window samples
• Soil and rock logging in accordance with current standards
• Groundwater monitoring and sampling
• Reviewing geological and historical information
• Producing factual and interpretative ground investigation reports
• Supporting geotechnical assessments and foundation recommendations
• Working with laboratory and site investigation data
• Preparing drawings and geological sections using CAD/GIS
• Liaising with clients, contractors and other technical teams

• Degree in Engineering Geology, Geology or a related subject
• Previous experience within ground investigation or engineering geology
• Good understanding of UK geology and ground conditions
• Experience with site investigation, geological logging and reporting
• Familiarity with relevant British Standards and Eurocodes
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Full UK driving licence
