Following the exciting transfer of Training 2000 by Blackburn College, we are embarking on a new chapter in technical education and apprenticeship delivery. As we continue to invest in our facilities, expertise and apprenticeship provision, we are looking for a passionate Engineering Instructor - Fabrication and Welding to join our Engineering team based at the Furthergate Business Park, Harwood Street, Blackburn.

About the Role

This is a rare and rewarding opportunity to move into teaching and make a lasting impact on the future engineering workforce.

Working with Engineering Apprentices from a variety of industries and backgrounds, you will share your industry expertise through engaging practical workshop sessions and classroom-based theory delivery. Whether supporting school leavers beginning their careers or experienced employees developing new skills, you will help learners build the knowledge, confidence and behaviours needed to succeed in industry.

You will:

• Deliver high-quality practical and theoretical learning in Fabrication and Welding.
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons that inspire and challenge learners.
• Support apprentices throughout their learning journey, helping them achieve their qualifications and career aspirations.
• Develop vocational and work-related skills that meet both industry standards and employer expectations.
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where learners can thrive.
• Contribute to the continued success and growth of our Engineering provision.

What We're Looking For

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual who is passionate about sharing their industry experience and helping others succeed.

You will need to have:

• Level 2 Qualification in Literacy, Numeracy and ICT
• Level 3 Engineering qualification in a relevant subject area.
• Level 3 Teaching Qualification and Assessor Award, or a willingness to work towards achieving these qualifications.
• Current knowledge of the engineering sector and recent industry experience in Fabrication and Welding.
• Strong communication, planning and organisational skills.
• The ability to motivate, support and inspire learners from diverse backgrounds.
• A commitment to delivering an exceptional learning experience.
