Engineering Interface Manager

A leading engineering and project delivery business is looking to appoint an Engineering Interface Manager to support the successful delivery of a portfolio of projects across multiple operational sites.

This is a key position responsible for managing relationships between clients, project delivery teams, engineering functions, and business stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with commercial objectives.

The role would suit an experienced Project Manager, Interface Manager, Programme Manager, or Engineer with experience within engineering, construction, industrial, or project delivery environments.

The Role

The Engineering Interface Manager will act as the primary point of contact between clients and delivery teams, ensuring business requirements are clearly understood and translated into actionable project plans.

Working closely with operational sites, project teams, engineering functions, and senior leadership, you will ensure projects meet client expectations while identifying opportunities for growth and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the primary interface between clients, project teams, operational sites, and business functions
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Understand client objectives and translate requirements into delivery plans
  • Support customer satisfaction through proactive communication and issue resolution
  • Identify and support future project and business opportunities

Project & Portfolio Delivery

  • Coordinate delivery of multiple projects and programmes across a portfolio
  • Monitor project performance, milestones, deliverables, and KPIs
  • Manage scope changes, additional work orders, and client variations
  • Ensure projects meet contractual, commercial, and operational requirements
  • Support project handovers from proposals through to delivery

Commercial & Contractual Responsibilities

  • Review contracts and project documentation
  • Support bid preparation and project mobilisation activities

Leadership & Coordination

  • Coordinate activities across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, installation, and commissioning teams
  • Motivate and support teams across multiple locations, whilst coaching and mentoring junior team members
  • Drive collaboration between departments to achieve business objectives

Risk, SHEQ & Compliance

  • Identify and manage project and portfolio risks
  • Support safety, quality, and environmental initiatives
  • Ensure work is delivered to required standards and contractual expectations

Ideal Candidate

  • Degree qualified in Engineering, Project Management, or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a Project Management or. similar role. Experience gained within a construction or engineering environment.
  • Strong client relationship and account management experience
  • Commercially aware with experience managing budgets and performance metrics
  • Strong planning, scheduling, and organisational skills
  • Experience using business systems and scheduling tools, ideally SAP
  • Technically astute, with the ability to: understand drawings, chair technical briefings, work effectively with and communicate on a technical level with Engineers daily, contribute towards engineering problem solving etc.
