Some Project Managers manage spreadsheets.
Others actually deliver projects.
This is the second type.
I'm recruiting for a Engineering Project Manager to join a busy food manufacturing site, taking ownership of capital projects from initial specification through to installation, commissioning and handover.
You'll manage budgets, contractors, suppliers and timelines - making sure projects are delivered on time, on budget and with zero harm.
The role
- Deliver the site's capital investment programme.
- Manage projects from specification and tender through to commissioning.
- Control contractors, suppliers, budgets and project timelines.
- Produce specifications, layouts and project justifications.
- Drive engineering improvements, efficiency and innovation.
- Ensure projects meet CDM, planning, safety and other regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with Engineering, Production, Technical, HSE, Hygiene and NPD teams.
- Support the wider engineering team with non-capital projects.
What you'll need
- Level 5 engineering qualification or equivalent.
- Strong project management experience within an engineering/manufacturing environment.
- Experience managing contractors, suppliers and project budgets.
- AutoCAD and CDM experience.
- Good understanding of food manufacturing engineering and factory services.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- A practical, hands-on approach.
- Full UK driving licence.
FMCG experience is a must for this one.
If you're an engineer who likes seeing projects actually get built - rather than just talking about them - this could be a good one.
