Engineering Stores Supervisor

Location: Chatham, Kent

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000

Alexander Steele are supporting a Global manufacturing business who are seeking an Engineering Stores Supervisor to support the efficient operation of the site through maintenance activities, breakdown response, planned maintenance, and engineering stores management, ensuring equipment and materials are available to support production.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on equipment and machinery.
• Respond to breakdowns and minimise operational downtime.
• Complete preventative maintenance tasks and maintain accurate records.
• Use CMMS systems to manage work orders and maintenance activities.
• Maintain engineering stores, inventory records, and spare parts availability.
• Monitor stock levels and raise purchase requests as required.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality, and company procedures.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across maintenance and stores functions.
• Work collaboratively with engineering, production, and operational teams.

Skills & Experience

• Experience in a maintenance, engineering, stores, or manufacturing environment.
• Good problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.
• Experience using CMMS, ERP, or inventory management systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical maintenance principles is desirable.
