Why this role matters
As anEngineering Stores Person in our Lincoln site, you’ll play a key part in keeping production and engineering activities on track. From goods inward to inventory control, stock checks and critical spares, you’ll ensure the right parts are available, correctly logged, safely stored, and ready for engineers when they need them.
What you’ll be doing
- Goods inward: unload deliveries, take receipt of parts coming into site, check they’re in good condition and match the Purchase Order (PO) specifications.
- Inventory control: accurately log parts onto the Shire system, label items correctly, and store them in the correct location/bins.
- Stock auditing: carry out regular checks and counts to ensure stock levels match the inventory system, including end-of-year stock counts.
- Critical spares control: ensure critical spares are stocked appropriately and that minimum holding levels for critical parts are maintained.
- Picking / kitting: pick kits and components ready for engineers to support PPM and planned maintenance activities.
- Housekeeping & safety: keep the stores area clean, organised and safe, staying within the site’s compliance and health & safety remit.
- Procurement support: contact suppliers to secure best value for money, build strong working relationships, and help manage supplier contracts.
- Shift cover: provide cover when needed for engineer admin duties, including raisingPOs.
What we’re looking for
- Organisational ability & attention to detail: maintain a high degree of accuracy when counting, checking, and completing paperwork.
- IT literacy: comfortable using spreadsheets, databases, and communication tools such as email and Teams.
- Engineering awareness: ability to liaise with suppliers and internal departments, understand engineering terminology, and keep things flowing.
- Systems experience (desirable): experience with Shire / Piranha would be beneficial, though training and support will be provided where needed.

Working hours & location
This position is based in Lincoln, LN4.
