Following continued growth and significant investment across their operations, they are seeking an experienced Engineering Team Leader to join their high-performing engineering team.

The Opportunity

As Engineering Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading and developing a team of 3-4 engineers while remaining actively involved in maintenance and engineering activities on shift. You will play a key role in improving equipment reliability, reducing downtime, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring engineering best practice is upheld across the site.

This role would suit an experienced Engineering Team Leader, Maintenance Team Leader, Lead Engineer, Shift Engineering Supervisor, or Senior Multi-Skilled Engineer looking to take the next step in their career.



Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate and develop a team of Multi-Skilled Engineers on shift.
  • Coordinate and prioritise planned and reactive maintenance activities.
  • Carry out hands-on electrical and/or mechanical maintenance as required.
  • Drive preventative maintenance and asset reliability initiatives.
  • Reduce downtime and improve plant performance across automated production lines.
  • Monitor and improve engineering KPIs including OEE, MTBF, downtime and maintenance compliance.
  • Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety, LOTO, food safety and site standards.
  • Work collaboratively with Production, Quality and Operational teams to maximise performance.
  • Manage engineering resources, contractors, spare parts and maintenance budgets.
  • Support continuous improvement projects using RCA, Kaizen, TPM, 5S and Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost reduction.


What We're Looking For

  • HND, Degree or Time-Served Engineering Apprenticeship.
  • Proven leadership experience within a manufacturing, FMCG, food, beverage, packaging or process environment.
  • Strong hands-on engineering background with electrical and/or mechanical expertise.
  • Experience leading maintenance teams in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance systems and engineering best practices.
  • Strong understanding of automated manufacturing equipment and production processes.
  • Excellent people management, coaching and communication skills.
  • Ability to make decisions under pressure and drive engineering performance.
  • Experience working with CMMS systems and engineering KPIs.
  • Flexibility to work a 4 on 4 off rotating days and nights shift pattern.


Desirable Experience

  • Dual-skilled Electrical & Mechanical background.
  • Food Manufacturing, FMCG, Brewing, Beverage, Packaging or Pharmaceutical experience.
  • TPM, Reliability Engineering and Continuous Improvement experience.
  • CAPEX and project delivery exposure.
  • IOSH, NEBOSH or recognised Health & Safety qualifications.
  • Experience managing site utilities including boilers, refrigeration and compressed air systems.
