Your responsibilities as Engineering Team Leader
- Coordinate planned and reactive maintenance, deploying resources effectively to maximise equipment availability and meet operational priorities.
- Coach, develop and support engineers on the floor, completing performance reviews, identifying training requirements and maintaining the skills needed across the operation.
- Lead fault finding and root-cause problem solving across electrical and mechanical equipment, helping eliminate recurring failures and improve asset performance.
- Maintain high standards across health and safety, food safety, GMP, animal welfare, environmental compliance and contractor activity.
- Use the CMMS effectively to manage maintenance activity, support asset care, improve system content and ensure work is completed and recorded correctly.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and factory projects, using operational KPIs, maintenance data and cross-functional communication to identify and deliver sustainable improvements.
What we’re looking for in an Engineering Team Leader
- An industry-recognised qualification with a strong electrical or multi-skilled electrical bias.
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding capability, including the ability to diagnose circuit drawings.
- Previous supervisory or management experience within an FMCG environment is desirable, alongside experience improving maintenance or operational performance.
- Knowledge of CMMS systems, legal compliance and safe maintenance practices; exposure to effluent treatment plants or poultry processing would be advantageous.
- Demonstrable experience of continuous improvement, resource prioritisation and working effectively with stakeholders across manufacturing operations.
