Smile Education is working in partnership with a high-performing secondary school in the West Bromwich area to recruit an enthusiastic English Academic Mentor for September. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates considering a career in teaching, experienced Learning Support Assistants, Cover Supervisors, or anyone with a strong English background looking to make a real difference.
Both full-time and part-time applications are welcomed, with flexibility available for the right candidate.

The Role
As an English Academic Mentor, you will:
  • Deliver targeted intervention sessions to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to help pupils improve their literacy, reading and writing skills.
  • Support classroom teachers to raise attainment and student confidence.
  • Help prepare students for GCSE English examinations.
  • Encourage engagement and foster a positive learning environment.
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
  • Holds a degree in English or a related subject (or has relevant classroom experience).
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Is passionate about education and supporting young people.
  • Can build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Is reliable, proactive and eager to contribute to school life.
