As an English Graduate, you may work as a:

• Teaching Assistant
• Literacy Support Assistant
• Academic Mentor
• Learning Support Assistant
• SEND Teaching Assistant
• Intervention Tutor
• Reading Mentor

You'll gain invaluable experience by:

• Supporting students on a one-to-one and small-group basis.
• Delivering literacy and reading interventions.
• Helping students develop confidence in reading, writing and communication.
• Supporting learners with SEND, Autism (ASC), ADHD and additional learning needs.
• Assisting teachers in delivering engaging classroom lessons.
• Encouraging student engagement and positive learning behaviours.
• Working alongside teachers, SEND teams and pastoral staff.
• Building positive relationships that support academic progress and wellbeing.

Every day presents the opportunity to inspire students, build essential educational skills and make a lasting difference to young people's futures.

• Gain valuable classroom experience before teacher training.
• Develop skills in communication, mentoring and behaviour support.

• A degree in English Literature, English Language, Creative Writing or a related subject.
• A genuine passion for supporting young people.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A positive, patient and adaptable approach.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• A commitment to helping students achieve their full potential.
• Previous experience working with young people is desirable but not essential.
