Salary: £150–£200 per day DOE
Cover People are recruiting on behalf of a highly regarded secondary school in Oldham for an enthusiastic and motivated Teacher of English to join their team from September 2026. About the Role:
- Teach English Language and English Literature across Key Stages 3 and 4, with Key Stage 5 opportunities available for suitable candidates
- Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons that inspire students and promote academic success
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all learners can flourish
- Assess, monitor and support student progress through effective feedback and intervention
- Work collaboratively within the English department to share best practice and raise standards
- Contribute to the wider life of the school through enrichment activities and extracurricular opportunities
About You:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or due to achieve QTS by September 2026
- A degree in English or a related subject
- Passionate about inspiring young people through English
- Confident teaching English across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Strong classroom presence and effective behaviour management
- Committed to continuous professional development and contributing to school life
