IS Applications Lead

Location: Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria

Working Pattern: 4 days onsite, 1 day from home

Contract: 24 Month Contract

We are recruiting for an experienced IS Applications Lead to oversee the delivery, performance and management of a broad applications estate, with SAP at its core.

The IS Applications Lead will provide technical and commercial oversight across applications, governance, assurance, outsourced service management and day-to-day run and change activity.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage applications processes, procedures and work instructions across the business
• Oversee application architecture, reliability, security, resilience and performance
• Act as the applications focal point for IS, IT, Cyber and external audits
• Manage third-party application vendors, relationships and commercial agreements
• Assess and assure third-party, cloud and SaaS application services
• Manage application licensing, consumption and renewals
• The IS Applications Lead will project manage application upgrades, changes, replacements and implementations
• Coordinate application testing and UAT cycles
• Support cyber security controls, assessments and incident response activities
• Oversee application hosting and associated integrations
• Manage the full application lifecycle from design and build through to maintenance and retirement
• Manage application change, upgrade and release activity
• Maintain application and SAP support documentation and the Service Catalogue
• Manage Master Data and application-related major incidents
• The IS Applications Lead will manage outsourced application support contracts and resources
• Act as the link between internal teams, external vendors and outsourced service providers

SAP Responsibilities

• Oversee the SAP landscape, including architecture, integration, performance and security
• Manage SAP hosting and core technical support and maintenance
• Oversee SAP RISE and internal SAP BW / PO on Azure
• Maintain SAP-specific controls and compliance requirements
• Coordinate SAP change activity between business teams and external service providers
• The IS Applications Lead will manage SAP change, upgrade and release management
• Act as Gate Keeper / Design Authority for SAP change
• Manage outsourced SAP support performance and resources
• Work with the Head of IS and wider stakeholders on the ongoing SAP journey

Requirements

• Proven experience in an IS Applications Lead, Applications Manager, SAP Applications Manager or similar role
• Strong understanding of applications management within a complex, multi-site organisation
• Good knowledge of infrastructure, networks, MS365, Azure and PowerApps / PowerBI
• Strong understanding of SAP principles, particularly change and release management
• Experience with IT General Controls, incident, problem and change management
• Strong contract, commercial, vendor and outsourced service management experience
• Experience coordinating application testing and UAT
• Strong understanding of cyber security and cyber risk management
• Bachelor's Degree in an IT / business discipline or equivalent experience

Additional Information

The IS Applications Lead role is based in Barrow-in-Furness and requires the successful candidate to work onsite 4 days per week, with 1 day from home.

Candidates must live locally or be willing to relocate to the Barrow-in-Furness area.
