Equipment Technician  
We are recruiting for an Equipment Technician Wolviston Management Services is supporting a leading advanced manufacturing organisation in the search for an experienced Equipment Technician to join their engineering team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a multi-skilled maintenance professional to work with state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment in a highly technical and fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in maximising equipment reliability, minimising downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing operation.
The Role As an Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting complex manufacturing equipment, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and availability to meet production targets.
Working closely with production, process engineering, and fellow maintenance professionals, you will provide technical expertise, fault-finding capability, and preventative maintenance support within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance activities in line with established schedules.
  • Diagnose equipment faults and respond effectively to breakdowns, restoring production equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Support manufacturing operations through technical troubleshooting and equipment optimisation.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement to increase efficiency, productivity, and equipment performance.
  • Contribute to equipment engineering KPIs, focusing on reliability, availability, and maintenance effectiveness.
  • Assist with root cause investigations and problem-solving activities, including participation in 8D investigations.
  • Support the training and development of technicians and apprentices by sharing technical knowledge and best practice.
  • Liaise with equipment suppliers and vendors to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Promote a strong health, safety, and environmental culture in line with company standards and industry best practice.
  • Assist in identifying cost-effective solutions for equipment maintenance, repairs, and spare parts management.
  • Work flexibly across multiple production and equipment areas as required by the business.
About You To be successful in this role, you will have a strong maintenance background and a proactive approach to problem-solving within a manufacturing or production environment.
Essential Requirements
  • Time-served apprenticeship in an engineering discipline.
  • Minimum three years' post-apprenticeship experience.
  • Experience working in a high-volume manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Understanding of PLC-controlled equipment and automated systems.
  • Experience producing or working with risk assessments and safe systems of work.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently when required.
  • Minimum ONC qualification supported by a recognised apprenticeship.
Desirable Requirements
  • Previous experience within a semiconductor manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • HNC or equivalent qualification in an Engineering discipline.
  • Formal training or assessment qualifications.
  • Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis techniques.
  • Experience working within ISO and occupational health and safety management systems.
  • Recognised PLC training.
  • Advanced IT skills and experience using maintenance management systems.
