Shift Pattern: Continental - 2 Days / 2 Nights / 4 Off
We are seeking an experienced Equipment Technician to join a highly advanced engineering and manufacturing facility, supporting the operation and maintenance of complex semiconductor production equipment.
This is a hands-on role working with sophisticated electro-mechanical, vacuum, pneumatic, electrical and RF systems within a high-tech cleanroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair and maintain advanced manufacturing and process equipment.
- Provide rapid engineering response to minimise equipment downtime.
- Carry out planned and preventative maintenance to maximise equipment uptime and performance.
- Fault-find across electrical, electronic, mechanical, vacuum and pneumatic systems.
- Support equipment including lithography, etch, deposition and epitaxy systems.
- Work safely with specialist gases, chemicals and associated delivery and exhaust systems.
- Manage critical spare parts and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, procedures and maintenance records.
- Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Facilities and other technical teams.
Skills & Experience
- Apprenticeship, HNC, HND or Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across complex electro-mechanical systems.
- Experience within a high-tech, precision or safety-critical engineering environment.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and documentation.
- Experience following detailed procedures, risk assessments and method statements.
- Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
Candidates from semiconductor, aerospace, defence, automotive, pharmaceuticals, oil & gas, power generation or Armed Forces engineering backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Semiconductor or cleanroom experience is advantageous but not essential.
Additional Information
- 40.3 hours per week.
- Continental shift pattern: 2 days, 2 nights, 4 days off.
- 12-hour shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
- Cleanroom-based working environment.
- SCBA use required; training and relevant assessments provided.
- Forklift training can be provided.
- Due to the rural location, a full UK driving licence and access to your own transport are essential.
