ERP Implementation Consultant, Printing & Packaging

Location: Remote, Europe
Travel: Client-site work as required, plus occasional trips to Denmark
Languages: German or French highly desirable
Type: Permanent
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

The opportunity

We are supporting a specialist Microsoft Dynamics 365 ISV and consultancy that has built its own printing and packaging module inside D365FO.

The business is scaling across Europe and the US due to live project demand, with around 45 active projects already and further work continuing to land.

They are now looking for people from the printing and packaging industry who have been genuinely involved in ERP, MIS or business systems implementation.

You do not need to come from a traditional Microsoft partner background.

You do not need to be a D365FO specialist.

What matters most is that you understand the printing and packaging industry, have been involved in implementing business systems, and can translate real operational processes into better ERP-led ways of working.

The role

This is a client-facing ERP consulting role, focused on helping printing and packaging businesses improve how their processes operate through a specialist module inside D365FO.

You will work with customers to understand how their current operation runs, where workflows are exposed, and how estimating, quoting, planning, production, materials, scheduling, fulfilment and finance should connect through the system.

The role is not software development. There is a dedicated development team for that.

The focus is on process understanding, stakeholder engagement, workshops, configuration, requirements gathering, testing support, training input and implementation delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Work with printing and packaging customers to understand their current operating model
  • Lead or support workshops across estimating, quoting, production planning, scheduling, materials, fulfilment and finance
  • Translate operational requirements into clear ERP and process recommendations
  • Configure the specialist D365FO module to support customer requirements
  • Support ERP/MIS implementation activity across discovery, design, configuration, testing, UAT, training, go-live and hypercare
  • Engage with stakeholders across production, planning, operations, finance and management teams
  • Work with internal consultants and developers to make sure requirements are understood and delivered correctly
  • Help customers improve process visibility, production control, data quality and operational efficiency

Experience required

The strongest candidates will have:

  • Experience in the printing, packaging, labels, corrugated, flexographic, folding carton, flexible packaging or wider print production industry
  • Hands-on involvement in ERP, MIS or business systems implementation
  • Understanding of production-led processes such as estimating, quoting, planning, scheduling, materials, fulfilment, shop floor activity or finance
  • Experience with implementation activity such as discovery, workshops, requirements gathering, configuration, testing, UAT, training, go-live or hypercare
  • Confidence working with stakeholders to understand process problems and improve ways of working
  • Ability to explain operational requirements clearly to consultants, developers and customer teams
  • German or French language skills would be highly desirable

Backgrounds being considered

We are interested in people from the printing and packaging industry who have been involved in business systems implementation.

Relevant backgrounds could include:

  • ERP Implementation Consultant
  • MIS Consultant
  • Print MIS Specialist
  • Business Systems Consultant
  • Solution Consultant
  • Application Consultant
  • Implementation Manager
  • ERP Project Manager
  • Systems Manager
  • Operations or Production professional involved in ERP/MIS implementation

Your previous system does not have to be D365FO.

Experience with systems such as SAP, Oracle, Infor, Epicor, CERM, EFI Pace, PrintVis, Tharstern, Radius, Label Traxx, PrintFlow, PrintSmith, ePS, EFI Monarch, Avanti Slingshot, Hagen, Technique MIS or other print/packaging ERP or MIS platforms would be relevant.

Working model

The role is remote across Europe.

Client-site work may be required depending on the project, and there may be occasional travel to Denmark, potentially around once per quarter, to spend time with the wider team.

If your background aligns with this requirement, my client would love to hear from you so please apply to register interest.
