Estate Services Operative (Cleaning)

Location: Various estates within the designated area CV37
Contract Type: Temporary, Part Time - 8:00 am - 1:00 pm Monday - Friday
Hourly Rate: £13.92
Start Date: August 24th 2026
End Date: November 13th 2026

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a high standard cleaning service to communal areas, including lifts, stairwells, floors, walls, and windows.
  • Maintain clear and tidy refuse areas, ensuring compliance with specific cleaning specifications and standards.
  • Conduct litter picking and remove bulk rubbish/fly tipping, including managing hazardous substances to uphold visual and safety standards.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and machinery safely, reporting any faults or incidents to the Senior Estate Services Operative.
  • Comply with all health and safety requirements, including risk assessments and COSHH regulations.
  • Assist in snow clearance, gritting, and minor repairs in communal areas.
  • Responsible for managing and reporting cleaning materials and equipment.
  • Utilise scheduling software to manage and record daily activities.
  • Participate in the Out of Hours Rota and carry out other reasonable duties as directed.

Knowledge/Skills/Experience Required:

Essential:

  • A current full UK driving licence and willingness to operate the organisation's vehicles, including vans and tipper transits.
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Experience operating cleaning machinery and equipment.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors across all seasons.
  • Physical capability to fulfil manual duties.
  • Previous experience in a similar role or environment.

Desirable:

  • NVQ qualification or equivalent in cleaning or Environmental Services, or a willingness to obtain such during the probationary period.
