Estates Surveyor in Crewe

Location: Crewe (Hybrid - 2-3 days in office)
Rate: £500 per day (Umbrella, Inside IR35)
Contract: Initial 5 months, potential extension

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Estates Surveyor to join a Local Authority in Crewe, supporting a high-profile asset transfer and disposal programme.
The role will focus on managing the transfer and disposal of approximately 30 council-owned properties, including community centres, car parks, allotments, playing fields and green spaces, with a strong emphasis on transferring assets to town and parish councils.

This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role requiring someone who can manage property transactions from start to finish, rather than overseeing external agents or teams.

Key Responsibilities
·Manage property disposals and community asset transfers through to completion.
·Prepare and review legal titles, deeds, auction packs and disposal documentation.
·Identify and resolve title defects, working closely with solicitors.
·Liaise and negotiate with town and parish councils, community groups and other stakeholders.
·Progress a high-volume disposal programme within challenging deadlines.
·Provide professional estates and property advice to support wider council objectives.

Essential Experience
·Strong background in local authority estates management and property disposals.
·Proven hands-on experience delivering asset transfers and disposals.
·Good understanding of property law, legal titles and conveyancing processes.
·Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
·Ability to work independently and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
·Ability to travel for site visits and meetings.
