A leading property organisation is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to support a significant heritage development project on a temporary basis.
This role will play a key part in establishing commercial processes, developing accurate budgets, and supporting the successful mobilisation of contractors and subcontractors. The successful candidate will provide commercial expertise throughout the early stages of the project, ensuring robust cost control, procurement processes, and contractual compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and implement commercial and contractual frameworks
- Develop realistic budgets, cost plans, and project estimates
- Support procurement activities and contractor/subcontractor engagement
- Review quotations, tenders, and commercial submissions
- Provide cost advice and commercial guidance to the project team
- Implement effective cost control and reporting processes
- Monitor commercial risks and recommend mitigation strategies
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and project requirements
- Build effective working relationships with contractors, subcontractors, and consultants
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, Estimator, or Commercial professional within the construction or property sector
- Strong background in cost planning, estimating, procurement, and contract management
- Experience developing commercial frameworks and managing subcontractor relationships
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced project environment
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts and commercial processes
- Experience delivering complex, high-value, refurbishment, heritage, or redevelopment projects would be advantageous
