Are you an experienced Construction Estimator looking to join a growing specialist contractor delivering projects across the UK and Europe?
Working closely with the Operations Team, you’ll be responsible for producing accurate cost estimates, reviewing tender documentation, assessing project risks, and supporting the tender process from enquiry through to contract award. You’ll be involved in a variety of projects across specialist construction sectors, including passive fire protection, data centre fit-outs, specialist cleaning and raised access flooring solutions.
Key Responsibilities of a Construction Estimator:
- Preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and project documentation
- Producing quantity take-offs and pricing schedules
- Sourcing and evaluating subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Identifying commercial risks and opportunities within tenders
- Supporting value engineering initiatives
- Attending tender review and clarification meetings
- Assisting with project handovers following contract award
- Maintaining accurate records, estimating databases and historical cost information
- Developing strong relationships with clients, suppliers and key stakeholders
What We’re Looking For in a Construction Estimator:
- Previous experience as an Estimator within the construction industry
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Experience preparing detailed costings and tender submissions
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Office skills
- Experience using estimating software
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable Experience:
- Data centre construction projects
- Passive fire protection systems and associated regulations
- NEC or JCT contracts
- BIM and digital take-off software
- Quantity Surveying or Construction Management qualifications
