Estimator – Stone Worktops

My client are established in 2000 with locations in London and Bedfordshire, my client have grown to be one of the premier surface fabricators and bespoke worktop suppliers in the United Kingdom. Key Clients including Knight Harwood, Wates, Overbury, Laing O’Rourke, Skanska, Harrods and Multiplex.

They deliver surfacing works across multiple sectors and have years of experience in tiling, cladding, screeding, waterproofing, rendering and stone installation to name a few. Portfolio features complex high-end projects, including Harrods, The Savoy Hotel, The Peninsula Hotel, The London Stock Exchange, BBC Studios, Wimbledon Tennis Grounds, The British Museum, The Francis Crick Institute, Sky Studios, InterContinental Hotel at the O2 and The Scalpel.

The Role

looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Estimator to join our growing team, specialising in the manufacture and installation of premium stone worktops.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in the stone industry or a strong background in joinery and interpreting architectural drawings. This is an office-based role at our premises in Bedfordshire.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate quotations for stone worktops from architectural drawings, plans, and customer specifications.
  • Measure and calculate material quantities and labour requirements.
  • Review technical drawings to identify project requirements and potential challenges.
  • Liaise with customers, architects, designers, suppliers, and the production team.
  • Produce detailed cost estimates and ensure quotations are accurate and competitive.
  • Maintain quotation records and update estimating spreadsheets and databases.
  • Assist with project handovers to production and installation teams.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous estimating experience within the stone worktop industry or a similar role.
  • Alternatively, experience within the joinery industry with the ability to read and interpret architectural and technical drawings.
  • Excellent understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to work with formulas, spreadsheets, and cost calculations.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple quotations and deadlines.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of natural stone, quartz, and porcelain products.
  • Experience using CAD or estimating software.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and installation methods for stone worktops.

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday: 8:45am – 5:30pm
  • Approx. One Saturday per month: 9:00am – 1:00pm (or as required)
