Estimator – Water & Civil Engineering

Morva Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well-established and growing business in the water and civil engineering sector to recruit an experienced Estimator.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative team delivering essential infrastructure projects across Cornwall, Devon and the wider South West. Offering a hybrid working model, you'll have the opportunity to work on long-term framework contracts for leading utility providers while developing your career within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

The Role

As an Estimator, you'll play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a range of drinking water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

Working closely with operational teams, you'll be involved throughout the pre-construction phase, ensuring tenders are commercially robust, technically accurate and submitted to a high standard.

Responsibilities

• Preparing accurate estimates and quotations for infrastructure projects.

• Pricing works using framework rates and first principle estimating.

• Reviewing drawings, specifications and project information.

• Supporting the preparation of tender and pre-construction documentation.

• Working closely with operational teams to develop competitive submissions.

• Liaising with clients and maintaining strong working relationships.

• Using estimating and Microsoft Office software to manage project information.

• Supporting continuous improvements across estimating processes.

About You

We're keen to speak with candidates who have:

• Previous estimating experience within utilities, civil engineering or drainage.

• Experience working on water or wastewater infrastructure projects.

• Strong commercial awareness and excellent attention to detail.

• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

• The ability to manage multiple projects and work to deadlines.

• Knowledge of NEC contracts would be advantageous but is not essential.
