Are you an experienced Estimator with a background in planned maintenance and refurbishment? Do you thrive on producing accurate, competitive tenders and want to join a growing business with a strong pipeline of secured work?

We're recruiting on behalf of a leading contractor delivering planned maintenance and refurbishment projects across the social housing sector. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an Estimator to join their commercial team.

The Role

Working closely with the Pre-Construction, Commercial and Operational teams, you'll be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for a variety of planned works projects, helping to secure new business and support continued growth.

Projects will typically include:

  • Internal and external planned maintenance
  • Kitchen and bathroom replacement programmes
  • Window and door replacements
  • Roofing works
  • External decorations
  • Energy efficiency and retrofit projects
  • General refurbishment works within occupied social housing
Key Responsibilities
  • Produce accurate and competitive cost estimates from drawings, specifications and bills of quantities.
  • Review tender documentation and identify project risks and opportunities.
  • Obtain and assess subcontractor and supplier quotations.
  • Carry out site visits where required to understand project scope.
  • Prepare detailed pricing documents, cost plans and tender submissions.
  • Work closely with operational teams to ensure estimates are commercially viable and deliverable.
  • Attend tender review meetings and support bid presentations where required.
  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, subcontractors and clients.
  • Keep up to date with market rates and industry trends.
About You

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Previous experience as an Estimator within planned maintenance, social housing or refurbishment.
  • A strong understanding of pricing planned works contracts.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail.
  • The ability to interpret drawings, specifications and schedules of works.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Experience using estimating software and Microsoft Excel.
  • The ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously and work to tight deadlines.
