Estimator – Senior Estimator

Up to £70,000 + Car Allowance of £6K + Benefits Package

We are hiring for a Civils; Rail Estimator / Senior Estimator based in the Northwest. Working for a Main Contractor you will be working closely with the Commercial Director and Pre-Construction Team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage tenders from initial enquiry through to final submission
• Develop robust, competitive and cost-effective pricing strategies
• Collaborate with internal teams to define bid-winning approaches and methodologies
• Prepare detailed estimates using first principles
• Carry out take-offs from drawings and technical documentation
• Assess and manage risk and opportunity pricing within tenders
• Engage with the supply chain to obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations
• Work closely with Planners and delivery teams to ensure realistic resourcing and programme alignment
• Present tender proposals to senior management for review and approval
• Support continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the estimating function
• Mentor and support junior team members where appropriate

Essential:

• Proven experience as an Estimator within civil engineering / infrastructure
• Strong experience in multi-disciplinary projects and/or frameworks
• Solid understanding of first principles estimating
• Ability to analyse technical information and translate it into accurate cost plans
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

This is a full-time, permanent opportunity. WFH 1 day per week.
