Event Sous Chef

We are looking for a Sous Chef with a background in Events Catering to join an exciting hospitality operation based in East London and sites around London.

In this energetic role, you will assist the Head Chef in overseeing food preparation, ensuring exceptional quality and presentation for a variety of events. Your leadership skills will shine as you supervise kitchen staff, coordinate food production, and maintain the highest standards of food safety and hospitality. Duties

• Support the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations during events, including supervising staff and coordinating food production
• Assist in preparing and cooking a diverse range of dishes, ensuring consistency, quality, and timely delivery
• Oversee food safety procedures, sanitation standards, and proper storage practices to comply with health regulations
• Lead team management efforts by supervising kitchen staff, providing training, and fostering a collaborative environment
• Ensure all food presentation aligns with brand standards and exceeds guest expectations
• Collaborate with event planners and service teams to ensure smooth execution of catering services
• Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, and manage waste reduction initiatives

Experience

• Proven supervising experience in a fast-paced culinary or hospitality setting, preferably within event or catering environments
• Extensive food production and preparation experience across various cuisines and techniques
• Strong kitchen experience with hands-on cooking skills and knowledge of food safety protocols
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities in managing teams of cooks and kitchen staff
• Background in restaurant or hospitality environments with a focus on serving guests and delivering excellent customer service
• Familiarity with food safety standards, sanitation practices, and inventory management systems
• Previous experience working during large-scale events or special functions is highly desirable
