This is a fantastic opportunity to join a prestigious organisation near Maidenhead as Events Sales Manager. You will lead a small and experienced team, taking responsibility for achieving agreed sales results while ensuring every client receives an exceptional and highly personal service.
Salary circa £50,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a bonus scheme.
This is a full-time role based near Maidenhead, with occasional evening and weekend work required.
The position combines team leadership, client management and commercial oversight. Strong B2C sales experience is essential, ideally gained within hospitality, travel, events or another premium consumer environment. You will provide day-to-day guidance to the team, review sales performance and future demand, contribute to pricing and planning discussions and personally manage a selection of client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate the sales team, creating a calm, supportive and ambitious working environment
- Set clear expectations and regularly review individual and team performance
- Hold one-to-one meetings, appraisals and team meetings, recognising success and addressing development needs
- Support the team with day-to-day questions concerning availability, pricing and internal procedures
- Review sales activity, conversion, future demand and booking trends, highlighting any areas requiring attention
- Prepare regular management reports and provide updates on progress against agreed objectives
- Contribute to budget planning, pricing reviews and the development of new services and revenue opportunities
- Oversee the scheduling and delivery of client appointments and promotional events
- Review systems, CRM usage and internal processes to improve efficiency and the overall client journey
- Personally manage selected client relationships from initial enquiry through to operational handover
- Help resolve more complex client concerns or complaints
- Work closely with Marketing, Finance, Operations and Events colleagues to ensure commitments made to clients can be delivered
- Maintain positive working relationships with external partners and represent the organisation at relevant industry events
- Provide practical cover and support when other members of the sales team are unavailable
About You
- A minimum of five years’ successful B2C sales experience
- Experience within hospitality, travel, events or another premium consumer environment would be highly desirable
- Previous experience managing, coaching and developing a team
- A proven ability to achieve revenue targets and understand forecasting, conversion and pipeline performance
- Strong commercial judgement and confidence interpreting sales information
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and a consistent approach to CRM updates and follow-up
- Warm and personable with the ability to establish effective relationships with clients and colleagues
- A confident and persuasive communicator, both verbally and in writing
- Calm under pressure and capable of managing challenging conversations professionally
- Strong Microsoft Office and CRM skills
