Carnell is looking for an experienced Excavator Operative to join our Technology & Infrastructure team, supporting highway and civil engineering projects across the UK. This role involves nationwide travel, working away from home, and occasional night and weekend working.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate 10 tonne and above tracked excavators safely and efficiently.
- Carry out excavation, drainage, trenching and reinstatement works.
- Undertake lifting operations in line with CPCS/NPORS requirements.
- Excavate safely around underground services.
- Complete daily plant checks and basic maintenance.
- Work to site drawings, specifications and safe systems of work.
- Maintain high standards of health, safety and quality on site.
Essential Requirements
- Current CPCS or NPORS card for 10T+ Tracked Excavator with Lifting Operations.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Proven experience operating tracked excavators on construction, highways or civil engineering projects.
- Good understanding of safe excavation practices.
- Willingness to travel and work away from home when required.
- Highways or National Highways experience.
Desirable
- Cat & Genny.
- First Aid.
- Additional plant tickets (Dumper, Roller, Telehandler).
