JLB Recruitment Ltd
An experienced compressed air pipe fitter is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing high-pressure pipe systems for compressed air and other industrial gases. The role requires both physical dexterity and a strong understanding of technical specifications, safety protocols, and pneumatic systems.
The Experienced Compressed Air Pipe Fitter is a skilled tradesperson responsible for the fabrication, assembly, installation, and repair of industrial piping systems used to transport compressed air, nitrogen, and other gases. They must interpret engineering blueprints and project specifications to ensure all installations are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards. This role requires extensive hands-on experience, strong diagnostic abilities, and a commitment to precision and safety.
Key responsibilities:
• Installation and fabrication: Install new aluminium, copper, stainless steel, and threaded steel pipework systems and components for compressed air and industrial gas setups.
• Blueprint interpretation: Read and interpret complex engineering schematics, isometrics, and technical drawings to determine system layout and requirements.
• Pipe preparation: Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to precise dimensions using various hand and power tools, such as saws, grinders, and pipe benders.
• Joining techniques: Utilize a variety of joining methods, including welding, brazing, soldering, and mechanical connectors, to connect pipes securely.
• Support installation: Install and secure pipe supports, hangers, and clamps to walls, ceilings, and other structures to ensure a stable and safe system.
• System testing: Perform rigorous pressure, leak, and functionality tests on newly installed and repaired systems to ensure integrity and compliance with safety codes.
• Maintenance and repair: Conduct routine and preventative maintenance on existing pipe systems. Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment failures and perform necessary repairs or component replacements.
