Central Recruitment is working with a London-based charity dedicated to creating positive change for families and young people who have been impacted by violence, exploitation and trauma.
Our client is currently recruiting for two hybrid Expert Violence and Exploitation Caseworkers. These roles involve supporting children and young people who have been exposed to or are at risk of exploitation or violence, helping them to achieve safety and positive outcomes.
- 32 hours - 4 day working week
- Between Monday - Friday
- Shifts: 09:00 - 18:00
- Temporary: approx. 6 months
- £23.40 per hour (£20.16 per hour, with £3.24 holiday pay)
Please note: this role is a hybrid role which requires you to work remotely and travel across London, meeting young people in the community or where they're based. An induction will be held at the Head Office and a laptop and phone provided.
Key responsibilities:
- Build safe, trusting relationships with young people in high-risk situations and with complex needs, ensuring their voice is heard and represented
- Deliver appropriate interventions for young people affected by violence, exploitation, and involvement with the criminal justice system
- Conduct robust risk and strengths-based assessments, prioritising safeguarding and effective risk management
- Ensure young people receive tailored support to meet their assessed needs and understand criminal justice processes
- Work collaboratively with partner agencies to reduce risk, secure services, and develop effective safeguarding and support plans
- Build strong relationships with statutory partners, communities, and key stakeholders to deliver effective services
- Advocate for young people, ensuring their safety, rights, wellbeing, and unmet needs remain central to decision-making
- Maintain accurate, high-quality case records and documentation
- Contribute to training, development, and service participation
- Comply with safeguarding legislation, policies, and guidance
What we’re looking for:
- Experience supporting young people affected by serious youth violence, exploitation, and complex needs
- Experience working within the criminal justice system and navigating relevant processes and procedures
- Strong experience managing complex safeguarding concerns and working effectively with children, families, adults at risk, and partner agencies
- Good understanding of contextual safeguarding and the impact of social and environmental factors on young people
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practice and its application when supporting vulnerable individuals
- Understanding of best practice when working with children, young people, and vulnerable adults affected by violence and exploitation
- Relevant qualification in social work, health, care, youth justice, youth work, or a related field
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and partnership working
- Desirable: Experience contributing to training, service development, and continuous improvement
Further requirements:
In order to register with Central Recruitment Services for temporary agency work, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Current valid right to work in the UK
- Minimum 12 months’ of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years* (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise)
- A fully enhanced DBS either registered on the DBS update service or issued within the last 12 months, or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £60)
- Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process
