Shifts: Monday to Thursday, 6:00am - 4:00pm (moving to permanent nights following induction: Monday to Wednesday, 6:00pm - 6:00am)

We're recruiting for a hands-on Extrusion Operator / Team Leader to play a key role in developing a growing extrusion operation. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established manufacturer where you'll combine your technical expertise with the opportunity to support and guide a small production team.
The Role
As an Extrusion Operator / Team Leader, you'll be responsible for operating and setting up rubber extrusion machinery while helping to ensure production targets, quality standards and health & safety requirements are consistently achieved.
Key responsibilities include:
- Setting up and operating rubber extrusion machinery.
- Preparing raw materials and ensuring the correct compounds are used.
- Monitoring machine performance and making adjustments to maintain product quality.
- Carrying out product changeovers efficiently.
- Completing quality inspections using measuring equipment.
- Troubleshooting production issues and working closely with engineering to minimise downtime.
- Supporting and motivating colleagues throughout the shift.
- Assisting with work allocation to ensure production schedules are met.
- Completing production documentation accurately.
- Promoting excellent housekeeping and health & safety standards.
- Supporting continuous improvement and Lean manufacturing initiatives.
The candidate:
- Previous experience operating rubber extrusion machinery.
- Previous Team Leader or Supervisory experience would be advantageous
- A strong understanding of rubber compounds and extrusion processes.
- Experience using measuring equipment such as calipers and profile gauges.
- The ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- A proactive approach with a strong commitment to quality and safety.
