About the Role:

Vocational Recruitment is working in partnership with a friendly and inclusive primary school in Camden to recruit a dedicated Early Years Teaching Assistant for a full-time, long-term position starting in September 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a nurturing and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting young children during the early stages of their education. You will work closely with the class teacher to create an engaging, safe, and stimulating learning environment, supporting pupils in Nursery or Reception as they develop socially, emotionally, and academically.

The successful candidate will be caring, proactive, and committed to helping every child reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teaching and learning within the Early Years Foundation Stage
  • Work with individual pupils and small groups to promote learning and development
  • Encourage children's communication, language, social, and emotional development
  • Assist with phonics, early literacy, numeracy, and play-based learning activities
  • Help prepare and maintain an engaging classroom environment
  • Support children's personal care needs where appropriate
  • Observe and record pupil progress, providing feedback to the class teacher
  • Promote positive behaviour and ensure the wellbeing and safety of all pupils

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children in an EYFS or primary school setting
  • Good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
  • A nurturing, patient, and enthusiastic approach
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant or Childcare qualification is desirable but not essential
