TeacherActive is working with a specialist SEND setting in the DL8 area that provides highly personalised education for children with significant and complex learning difficulties. The setting has a strong focus on understanding the whole child, creating secure relationships and providing an engaging environment where individual success is recognised and celebrated.

This is an exciting full-time SEND EYFS Teacher opportunity working with vulnerable children aged 3-5, all of whom have an EHCP and require education built around their individual developmental needs. Pupils may have complex learning difficulties alongside physical, communication, sensory, social and emotional needs, so you will need to be confident adapting your teaching and measuring progress from each child's individual starting point.

The SEND EYFS Teacher will have the freedom to make learning creative, practical and meaningful, using purposeful play and sensory experiences to develop early communication, interaction, physical development and personal, social and emotional skills. The EYFS provision uses personalised EHCP targets alongside topic-based learning and provides sensory areas, sand and water exploration, fine and gross motor activities, small-world play, creative activities and indoor and outdoor continuous provision.

This is a role where topics can genuinely be brought to life. Whether pupils are exploring themselves and their families, discovering animals and living things, investigating colours, tastes and textures, or developing their understanding of the world around them, you will have the opportunity to create memorable experiences that encourage curiosity, engagement and independence.

The successful SEND EYFS Teacher will have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Strong knowledge of EYFS pedagogy and child development
• Experience teaching children with SEND, complex needs and EHCPs
• Confidence delivering sensory, play-based and highly differentiated learning
• An understanding of communication, physical, social and emotional development
• A nurturing, creative and adaptable approach with the ability to recognise progress in all its forms
