About the Role & School
We are working with a high-achieving primary school in the London Borough of Newham that is seeking a passionate EYFS Teaching Assistant to join their reception team. This is a full-time, term-time position, offering the opportunity to support young learners during the most important stages of their early education.
The school is committed to creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment where every child is encouraged to develop confidence, curiosity and a love of learning. Main Responsibilities
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and creative learning activities within the reception classroom.
- Assist pupils with their learning through play-based and structured activities.
- Help create a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment.
- Support children's social, emotional and personal development.
- Work with individuals and small groups to develop early literacy, numeracy and communication skills.
- Observe pupil progress and provide feedback to the class teacher.
- Promote positive behaviour and encourage independence throughout the school day.
- Previous experience working with children within an EYFS or primary school setting is desirable.
- A genuine passion for supporting young children's learning and development.
- Patient, caring and enthusiastic with excellent communication skills.
- Able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
- A proactive and flexible approach to supporting the classroom.
- Relevant childcare or Teaching Assistant qualifications are beneficial but not essential.

- You will be paid the permanent equivalent for the job after 12 weeks, in many cases from day one.
